Develop Detroit

Develop Detroit is a real-estate development firm that takes an integrated approach to stabilizing and growing neighborhoods impacted by ongoing housing crises and the history of disinvestment in Detroit. The firm approached Olu & Company to deliver visual and written branding for The Freelon, a mixed-use development project in Detroit’s Sugar Hill Historic District. The District has a rich history as an epicenter for Black-led music, culture and visual art. In partnership with room for magic, we created an identity that honors the neighborhood’s legacy and reflects a future where innovation, creativity and collaboration can continue to thrive.
